Oliver Perez is a left-handed starting pitcher for the New York Mets. Oliver Perez was signed by the San Diego Padres as an amateur free agent in 1999. He made his debut with the Padres in 2002. Perez did well for a rookie after being called up by the Padres in 2002. In August 2003, Perez was sent by San Diego to Pittsburgh On July 31, 2006, Perez was traded to the New York Mets.
